Update: April 21
At CPMC we learned that the germy natural world doesn’t have to be as scary as we once thought. Gayle was told to take “the usual precautions” to avoid illness – mainly, avoid contact with sick people and do a lot of hand-washing, plus a few other things, like wipe down doorknobs in her house once in a while. There were a few specific instructions regarding people: avoid anyone with chicken pox or shingles, and avoid live virus vaccines (we’re not sure if that includes avoiding a person who has recently had a live virus vaccine, but to be safe, please consider that to be a “no no” too). Regarding the rest of the natural world, she should never again deal with a litter box, and she should wear a mask if she is digging around in soil. Other than that they encouraged her to live a normal life.
Having said that, we still would appreciate your consideration of Gayle’s suppressed immune system. If you are in doubt about whether you could pass an infection along, please err on the side of caution.
With regard to visiting, one or two people at a time now would be OK. Please call ahead to check on whether it is OK to come by for a visit – please do not just drop in. Thank you.
Hi Gayle,
I hope everything goes well for you! I had no idea!
I am willing to bring you food, help clean or house or do anything necessary for you to get your health back.
I am donating money to help as well.

Wow I am so amazed at all you wonderful people and
the amazing human body. Margie has inspired me to
be a more loving and forgiving person from the first
time I spoke with her. I have not met Gayle yet. I know
Loren from the auto shop and wow talk about integrity
and true customer care. I wish all of you the very best
today and forever more.
Health is wealth. Teri
“…never again deal with a litter box?” That sounds like a bonus!
Gayle, I’m sending you lots of good thoughts… since my daughter seems to be a constant well of potential germs, I think I will not risk your health with a visit, but know that I’m thinking of you.
