****Ok to call us now if you would like. We may not always make it to the phone in time if we are in the middle of pill counting or napping or testing appointments. Leave a message and we will get back to you. We love to hear from you!
[blog comments still very much welcome too!]
Hello Gayle,
I recieved a lovely notification from Kathy Wicker of the battle with your Kidney! I am sat at work here in England about to break for Easter ( a celebration of Christs death and resurection) which we as a family love so much – and thought it might be so nice if you accepted our humble prayers and thoughts during the comming weeks for a successful, pain free, speedy recovery post 17th April. We often have no idea of others suffering and pain – both mental and physical and the trauma it brings. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you and with Margie and your families and remember – ”The Pint Pot is always Half Full and never Half Empty”
All our Love and God Bless
Robbie, Maria, Hannah and Elinor xoxoxoxo

So happy to hear via this evening’s phone call from Nora that you are at long last getting your transplant, Gayle. You are in the prayers of myself and our entire Carson City First United Methodist Church congregation for God’s best blessings and successful surgery next week. We pray God’s great love and care for your donor and for Loren as well. May you and your loved ones enjoy a wonderful Easter and the happiest spring season ever. Love and Prayers, Nancy M. P. S. My mother in Montana sends her prayers and good wishes, too. The Chipmans have been wonderful friends of our family for years–we wish you the best! Have a speedy recovery!
Kathy Wicker told us about your health problem. We pray that the Lord Jesus will be with you both during the surgery & that you will heal quickly. Our thoughts & prayers are with you & your family.

Kathy Wicker has invited us to let you know how much you and and Margie are in our thoughts and prayers. Personally we have known how a friend of ours was able to live 25 years beyond his life expectancy (according to his doctors) by faith and the prayers of his friends and family. In Harold’s case, he did not receive the needed kidney, but we feel our prayers alone kept him going. With Margie’s selfless offer of a kidney, and the great advances in medical knowhow, we are confident that you are in good hands, guided by our Lord and Savior, and that you will overcome the trials currently facing you. Have faith. Be strong, and God go with you. With love, Claudia & Ben
I’m a friend of Kathy Wicker’s from Carson Valley United Methodist Church. Please know that you will be in my prayers and thoughts. May our Lord be there holding your hands in the coming days.
Gayle, Family and Friends,
There were 19 present at United Methodist Women’s meeting on April 9th and we have you in our thoughts and prayers. Doris
Hi Gayle and Loren:
I wanted to take a few moments on behalf of myself, Scott and Dad (Uncle Albert) to send our love and best wishes. While we do not get to spend much time together, you both are always included in our thoughts and prayers. Aunt Nora and Kathleen keep us updated and we were overjoyed to learn that you had found a match. We will keep your donor in our thoughts and prayers as well.
My ear will be turned to the phone later this week to get the positive reports from Aunt Nora and Kathleen following your surgery.
Love and hugs!
Sandra
Gayle,

Hi…..I just want to wish you the best always. Although I havent met you yet, I have known my dear friend Margie for many years and she and I remain the best of friends. Her generosity has and continues to be amazing and she is a true gift to all of those who know her. She is so happy to be doing this for you, and I know you have been touched by her as we all have, and it is a pleasure to make a donation. Wishing you happiness and good health as you continue on this journey.
Hi Gayle:

Loren and Gayle,
I just located this website; computer issues–nothing new for me. Kathy has kept us up as best she can on Gayle’s progress, and our Life Group here in Reno has been praying for a successful outcome for her and her donor. It is terrific to read that things are going well–the early release is fabulous! We will continue to hold you both in our prayers (and your extended family, too!)
Love from Dave and Chrissy
To all of you- what a story, what an inspiration… at each turn. I am sending loving & supportive thoughts daily. Thank you for this wonderful blog for updates and a place for me to share!

Thank you both so much. I think of you often. It’s strange but when something like this happens oone tends to go back in time to special people, so it has been on my mind to get in touch with you. So great to hear from you!
Glad to hear you are doing so well, Gayle. It’ll be great to see you back in circulation.
The web site: Wow, 11,610 hits so far! I’ll bet you’re glad you haven’t had to answer the phone 11,610 times! Ain’t technology great?—when it works.
Elaine
Thanks Elaine. I am fortunate all around to have come this far. In fact that was the hope for this blog, to help during the surgery time when calls can get overwhelming. I’d sure be happy to see you two sometime soon.
Hi Gayle… I know we haven’t talked to you much since you have been home but you are always on our minds and in our hearts. It was nice to see you out driving this afternoon <3 I hope all is going well and that you are building your strength.
See you around the neighborhood
Judi & Van
Thank you guys. It is good to be able to begin getting back some strength and normalcy. Looked like Gus had you two working hard today! Love my neighbors, I am so lucky.
Gayle,
I just learned of your journey from Joan Kennedy. I am interested in your journey because my wife, Oddette, is about to recieve a kidney from a live donor. She has PKD and is a transplant candidate.
I also work at Cal Poly and was glad to hear of your success in life. I am really glad to read about your daily adventure through this site. It lets me and my wife know what to expect in our near future. God Bless!
John
I am so excited for you both. A live donor is the best scenario as you probaby know. I am sure you have been through a lot so far. I will e-mail you my contact info. If I can help in anyway, let me know.
